I feel that I try to stay up on the new technology, science, concepts, etc. My wife will tell you that this is true except for when it comes to pop culture, this includes social networking. This blog probably started a couple years after it should have. I am on Facebook, but hardly keep up with the thing. Well now I am Tweeting. This is just in time for USITT*.
Look to the top right of this page…this tweet is what I recently said. Ooooh….Ahhhh….
You can click on PiraTWEETnical and follow me through whatever tweet tracking method you might use. If you don’t have a twitter account, well…(you’re probably wise for lasting this long)…you can go to www.Twitter.com to create an account.
*USITT is just around the corner and I will try to Tweet like crazy from the showroom floor and sessions. I will be on the panel for two sessions this year, come check them out:
| Digital Projections in Productions 101 | Saturday 1:30 PM – 2:45 PM | |
| A general exploration of guidelines to follow and pitfalls to avoid when doing digital imagery in a live production. Session will cover basics of design, software, and hardware, for low budget and high end applications. Panel will provide anecdotal commentary demonstrating successful and not so successful experiences. Will include time for discussion and exchange of ideas, so come with questions. | ||
| Automation 101 – Terminology | Wednesday 5:00 PM – 6:15 PM | |
| Scenic automation is both evolving rapidly and moving into more and more theatres and its jargon and terminology is not yet clearly defined or universally known. Add to this the differences between North American and European practice and confusion rather than communication can result. Learn the key components of a typical automation system and the terms involved in setup and use. This is essential basic information for designing and operating these systems, as well as incorporating automation in their productions for the first time. | ||
